FAQ's

Which states is weight management available in?

All 50 US states. Consultations are with independent US-licensed physicians, and licensed US pharmacies ship to all 50 states. Where an individual treatment is not available in a state, that is shown before checkout.

How does weight management care work?

You complete a guided medical questionnaire and checkout. An independent US-licensed physician reviews your information and determines whether treatment is appropriate. If it is, your medication is prepared by a licensed US compounding pharmacy and shipped to your door. If it is not, you are notified and refunded.

What treatments are offered?

Semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide, metformin and phentermine, in injections, tablets and capsules. A physician chooses the form and the starting dose with you.

What do the weight management treatments cost?

Semaglutide injection is $149 a month, and semaglutide sublingual and oral dissolving tablets are $129 a month. Tirzepatide injection is $219 a month and the oral dissolving tablet is $299 a month. Liraglutide is $269 a month, phentermine is $89 a month, metformin is $79 a month, and oral weight loss capsules are $149 a month. Each price includes the consultation, the medication and shipping.

What is semaglutide and how does it work?

Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 pathway, which regulates appetite and slows how quickly the stomach empties. Semaglutide is the active ingredient in the branded products Ozempic and Wegovy. Vitren offers compounded semaglutide in injection, sublingual and oral dissolving tablet forms.

What is tirzepatide and how is it different?

Tirzepatide acts on two incretin pathways, GIP and GLP-1, rather than one. A physician will discuss which option suits your history and your goals.

Who qualifies for GLP-1 therapy?

Adults who meet the clinical criteria, decided by a physician after reading your intake. Not all patients qualify.

Are these medications FDA-approved?

Some medications referenced are compounded. Compounded drug products are not approved or evaluated for safety, effectiveness, or quality by the FDA. Your physician will discuss what is appropriate for you.

What side effects should I expect?

Nausea, stomach upset and reduced appetite are the side effects reported most often. Your physician reviews the risks with you before prescribing and stays available if anything feels off.

How is the dose adjusted?

A physician sets a titration plan and adjusts it based on your progress and how well you tolerate the medication.

Can I switch between medications?

Yes, where a physician considers it appropriate. Message your care team and a physician will review the change.

What if I miss a dose?

Check the medication guide included with your kit, and message your care team for the right next step on your schedule.

Where is an injection given?

Your kit includes instructions for subcutaneous injection in the approved areas, such as the abdomen or thigh.

Can I drink alcohol during treatment?

Ask your physician about your case. Alcohol can make side effects more noticeable for some patients.

What if I am not approved?

Not all patients qualify. If a physician determines that treatment is not appropriate for you, you are notified and refunded.

Who provides the medical care?

Medical services are provided by independent licensed physicians. Vitren is a health brand and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
